I've been loving his song 'Please' piano acoustic version a lot!! Actually, I've loved the original one, admired the RnB version, liked the rock version, and is now listening repeatedly the piano acoustic version. The song has a great impact to me whatever version it might be. Maybe because of the lyrics 'After getting drunk, I cried.'

Kim Hyun Joong performs at MTV Presents Valentines Live 2012

And I just missed him so much performing on stage! When I watched this videos, I acted as if I was a fangirl watching it live. ^^ Although I'm only seeing it on my computer, but whenever I wanted to scream and do the fanchant or sing with the sings, I still do it. hehehe ^^ Weird right? ^^ But honestly, I really did miss him. Can't wait to see him perform once again for us. ^^ I wonder what is his next concept? Kim Hyun Joong wins case against MOGEF, ban removed for “Please”

Kim Hyun Joong and his entertainment company, Key East, managed to retract the ban on one of his tracks, “Please“.

The song, which was a part of his “Break Down” solo album, had been banned by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family (“MOGEF“) for being “harmful media to the youth”.

In it’s overturning decision, the courts proclaimed that “In books, movies, and dramas permitted for teenage viewing, there are often scenes of drinking and smoking to quell sadness. In the interest of maintaining freedom of speech, it must also be allowed in popular music. It cannot be assumed that just because it is there, it promotes drinking or smoking.”

The MOGEF had banned the song earlier in the year for lyrics such as “Through the expanding cigarette smoke” and “Because I’m drunk”.

The court struck down MOGEF’s reasoning, saying, “Taking the lyrics in context of the entire song, the phrases are just a way to express the horrible emotions after breaking up with a lover, not encouraging drinking or smoking.”

I would have to agree that the song itself did not promoted drugs on it's lyrics, and it would be unfair to just ban the song.

On October 12th, the Seoul Administrative Court revealed that Key East Entertainment filed a lawsuit against the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family on behalf of Kim Hyun Joong. Kim Hyun Joong’s agency is protesting the ban placed against his song, “Please“.

Key East is requesting that the MOGEF withdraw their ban on Kim Hyun Joong’s digital single album and music video. Representatives stated, “The only lyrics referencing to alcohol in his June release, ‘Please’, are two lines stating, ‘I am drunk’, and ‘Between the spread of the cigarette smoke’. These two are not lines referencing the effects of drugs.”

They continued, “The use of alcohol and cigarettes is not a major theme in the song. Furthermore, the Ministry has failed to ban songs that reference to drugs more directly and explicitly. The decision made on Kim Hyun Joong’s album is unjust.”

The popularity of the solo singer Kim HyunJoong is spreading across all Asia.

Kim HyunJoong have released his first solo mini album 'Break Down' in June. Within 2 weeks of the album released, 100,000 copies of the album have been cleared out. His title track in the album, Break Down, have dominated various music charts for the 1st place alongside with other songs in the album like 'Please' & 'Kiss Kiss'.

The popularity of 'Break Down' have also swept across to other parts of Asia. Last week, Break Down was also placed 1st in various overseas music charts, shows and sites like Japan Oricon Chart (The highest number of album sales), Taiwan (5 Music & G-Music), Phillipines (ASTRO), Thailand (Channel V), HongKong (KKBox) and etc.

The representative of the music industry said, 'Despite the album promotion is yet to be fully released in overseas, it have already made such high achievements. We hope that Kim HyunJoong, as the Hanryu star, will continue to launch his activities across Asia.'

'Kim HyunJoong's Wave' is also planned to continue for some time in Korea. After showing his strong charisma in 'Break Down' performance, Kim HyunJoong will now proceed his album promotion with the light pop dance performance in 'Kiss Kiss', where he'll be showing his romantic side. The first stage performance for 'Kiss Kiss' falls on 14th of July through the cable channel Mnet 'M!Countdown'.

Additionally, after concluding his 'Kiss Kiss' promotion, Kim HyunJoong will begin his overseas promotion starting from August.
