These are just some of the photos taken during filming of 'City Conquest'. It's a pity this show was never shown in Korea. Hyun Joong's effort was clearly seen on the episode. Still, we need to look at the brighter side. Maybe soon we'll hear good news again from him about making a drama. Last night, 'City Conquest' was aired in DAUM Japan and Japanese fans were so lucky to have watched it. For those who live outside Japan, here are some clips taken from the episode. Well, I gotta be honest, I didn't watch the kissing scene part. ㅋㅋㅋ Guess I'm not ready yet. ^^ But don't be like me, go ahead and see how Hyun Joong acted so you could admire him more. ^^ It was really unfortunate that it was not shown in Korea. Oh well, every thing happens for a reason. Maybe he'll get a better drama project in the future. 아무튼 김현중 멋지다!!! ♥

Kim Hyun Joong Withdraws From TV Drama, To Perform In Brazil

MANILA, Philippines - Hallyu star Kim Hyun Joong has decided to withdraw from his comeback TV drama following a dispute between TV station KBS and a production company.
The actor and singer was supposed to star in "City Conquest," which would have been his first drama series in more than two years.
His agency Key East Entertainment said it was talking to the production team about this and regretted that Kim Hyun Joong would leave the drama.
“We are in the process of withdrawing from the cast of ‘City Conquest.’ We’re currently talking with the production team to find the right timing to leave, but he will be leaving. We’re very sad to have him drop ‘City Conquest’ as it was an opportunity for him to greet his fans through the small screen. Kim Hyun Joong is scheduled for a Japanese tour until March. For now, he will be focusing on his activities as a singer," said an agency representative, according to Soompi.
Kim Hyun Joong had already filmed for "City Conquest" last year and even held an event in Japan last October to promote the drama.
The producers have already sold the rights to air the drama in Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan and China.
"City Conquest," which was produced at an estimated cost of 4 billion won (P149 million), was supposed to air on KBS but the TV station rejected it, saying that it contained too much violence.
Last month, KBS decided not to include "City Conquest" on its roster of dramas for this year.
The producers of the drama claimed that KBS rejected the drama because the violent scenes would not do well with the inauguration of South Korea's new president this month.
"The executives of the KBS drama center said the reason we were not given a time slot was because, though the quality of the drama′s content and its business value is high, its violence does not fit the mood of the launch of Korea′s new government," said Media Back in a statement, according to ENewsWorld.
The production company said it yielded to the demands of KBS to replace actors and screenwriters and edit the script.
"Soon after, however, a new president was appointed to KBS and he replaced the drama center executives, after which we were told through an unofficial route, as if they were tossing us aside, that we would not be getting a time slot," said Media Back.
KBS denied that it rejected the drama for political reasons, saying that "City Conquest" was shelved because of its poor script and violence.
With "City Conquest" out of his schedule, Kim Hyun Joong will be focusing on his singing career.
Kim Hyun Joong will be flying to Brazil this month to take part in the "2K13 Feel Korea" event to mark the 50th anniversary of Korean immigration to the country.
The star will perform at a concert on Feb. 24. together with Ailee, Baechigi and Ongals.
The next day, Kim Hyun Joong will be in Lima, Peru for a fan meeting.

Kim Hyun Joong's 'City Conquest' Drama will not be aired in KBS
I hate bringing a bad news. In fact, as much as possible I do not post it here on my blog. If you would notice on my previous posts, I hardly make such entries so as not to create more fuel in the fire. But on this article, I need to make a simple comment. The drama is just a fiction. It's not what is happening in real life. Like what other movies and dramas, definitely everyone has a right to be watched by the public. Doesn't necessarily mean if they air it that they are agreeing on the violence. Let's all bear in mind that at the end of the day, there is still a lesson to be learned. I hope they realize that. I wish Hyun Joong would not feel burdened about this. 김현중 걱정마세요~ We are still here to support you and your drama. We will wait patiently.

‘City Conquest’ producers argue “Rejected from KBS from government intervention” vs KBS “Unfounded rumors”
Kim Hyun Joong’s drama ‘City Conquest’ was originally scheduled for a time slot with KBS but was recently rejected for what the production company is claiming “government intervention”. In a press release, they detail all of the demands KBS made, including switching out script writers, editing the scripts, switching out parts of the cast, etc, which they all complied with out of pressure.
In the end, KBS decided to drop the drama all together after a certain switch of power in the higher ups. “KBS officials told us that the reason they could not air the drama was because despite its superior content and business potential, the depiction of violence was not the right fit for a time when the government is making a new start.”
KBS came out with their own statement saying that their claims are unfounded. “The drama features too much violence and revenge themes and makes a mockery out of the police. We thus felt that it was inappropriate for broadcast.”

I was thinking twice if I'm gonna post this here. It's not that I don't want to share it. It's just that..... my heart wasn't able to take it!!!!!!!!! <\3 T_T I know I'm going overboard. But still, I couldn't help myself but feel envious of the girl who's with him. If you are an avid follower of this guy right here, you'd probably be feeling the same way. I think I'm going nuts after I've seen that part. The holding hands was just an appetizer. Wait for the main course. >.< Nevertheless, the video is an interesting one to watch for.

Teaser of Kim Hyun Joong's 'City Conquest' Drama
The moment I woke up, I immediately check for any updates. And to my surprise, HollisHyun uploaded the teaser that was shown in the promo event in Japan. OMG!! the action scenes were great. I was suddenly reminded by the MV of SS501 Solo Collection where Hyun Joong played the role of a killer. I was liking the bad image he portrayed during that time and was hoping he would somehow got a role like that. Finally, he grabbed the role of Baek Mir and I'm loving it. ^^ First teaser was the action scenes. Second part was Baek Mir's love...... See it for yourself. ^^

On October 5th, the drama City Conquest directed by Director Yang Yun-ho & written by Hwang Ju-ha, BnT News have contacted with the production company Media100, confirming the drama will be broadcasted in KBS2TV. 'City Conquest' is originally a comic series written by Shin Hyungbin turned into a drama, with the original comic series copies sold over more than 1,000 million and the popularity is still on the rise.
City Conquest which is expected to air on early 2013 in KBS2 depicts a story of battle in an illegal & dark society with the lead casts Baek Mir together with his beloved woman Danbi since young, the woman Tae Su-min who develops a loveline (with Baek Mir), and the man Cha Ji-ryong who only cares for only one woman (Danbi) , a melodramatic and action storyline revolving around the 4 characters that captures the eyes of the world.
The lead character in City Conquest, Baek Mir who have been casted by Kim HyunJoong from the very start, have also garnered many attentions from the overseas buyers, with the copyright sold approximately for 11.8billionKRW.

Let me say first my deepest thanks to nanet@LKHJ.com for compiling these updates for us.
